Formed in 1996 and based in County Down Artfrique is a local based enterprise with an international arts and educational agenda. Offering innovative integrated programmes and services in the area of training, development and entertainment. Our services are highly professional and cutting edge, with an Intercultural experience to all our events including performances.
The Courses
Artfrique is recognised for its unique approach to educational methodology, bringing a fresh and fun learning experience were creativity is at the core of our programmes. Edutainment and Infotainment, these form the basis for our innovative and ground breaking approach to education and unique to our programmes and their delivery.
Artfrique has become a recognised all Ireland Brand, and, in 2004 Artfrique was recognised as one of the top Cultural Arts Companies in the UK and Ireland following an invitation to 10 Downing Street to celebrate its contribution to the Arts and Educational scene. Without a doubt Artfrique has touched the lives of the people of Northern Ireland, we continue to deliver unprecedented results for people, helping to build confidence, and develop new and innovative programmes supporting the new curriculum and developing artists and shows for an international audience.
Through POP Visions, we offer curriculum support in the areas Physical Education, Citizenship, Employability (Skills for living) Entrepreneurship, education other than school, known as (EOTAS) including ground breaking work with student with Acute to moderate learning difficulties. To date POP Visions programmes have been accessed by 26 High schools, 15 Grammar Schools, 5 integrated schools, 21 Primary Schools and 9 alternative learning centres delivering 45 programmes in 4 years. Our work is highly sought after by the Educational Library Boards. For the past 4 years we have been working closely with the Curriculum and Examination Agency and the North East Education Library Board to develop educational frameworks which put creativity at the heart of young peoples learning experience.
Our programmes are the product of extensive and ongoing research and development, working closely with the Curriculum and Examination Agency, Queens University’s, University of Jordanstown Health Sciences Departments and the North East Education and Library Board.
Dr Aideen McGinley the permanent secretary for the department of Culture Arts and leisure and now the Permanent Secretary in the Department of Education Training and Employment remarked that “POP Visions is a great project for young people to be involved in.”
Since being set up, Artfrique Movement has put Dance at the forefront of its work. Primarily African and South American dances such Mambo, Kwasa Kwasa, Ntutentute, Hip Hop and Urban Movement, Tai Chi and Salsa. In the last 10 years we have been promoting and developing Hip Hop and other Urban expression movement techniques. Our use of effective marketing activities including partnerships with Belfast City Council to run the successful annual Belfast International Week of Dance, which is as part of the European healthy Cities programme.
In 2005 we set up Hip Hop Academy to bring together young people from all music backgrounds, nurture and develop their talents and celebrate the creative traditions such drumming and spoken word, to be performed around the world. This followed 2 years of unprecedented demand for our hip hop programmes. Whilst we are not the only provider of Hip Hop dance and Rap workshops, we are the leader in developing hip hop and Urban dance Culture. What sets apart from our competitors is that we reflect the history, heritage and identity of Northern Ireland something we pride ourselves as being a part of.
FOR 10 OVER YEARS ARTFRIQUE THROUGH ITS FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT TURA ARUTURA HAS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF INTERGRATED CULTURAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT IN THE NORTH & SOUTH IRELAND. AS AN ENTERTAINMENT AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATION. WITH A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RATE OF 96% WE HAVE ESTABLISHED SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS SUCH AS POP VISIONS, HIP HOP ACADEMY AND PROJECT 2K. WE CONTNUE TO INFLUENCE, AND CONTINUE TO IMPACT POWERFULLY AND POSITIVELY INTO THE LIVES OF ALL BRITISH AND IRISH PEOPLE.
Aim of Hip Hop Academy: to establish a hip hop centre for practice, expression and networking of Hip Hop practitioners, bringing together young and mature people with a passion for hip hop culture.
Aim of Artfrique: A global arts institution developing and promoting native arts from Africa and Africans focussing on Music, Dance Theatre, Multimedia, Visual arts including Sculpture. Artfrique is the gate way to American, European and global markets.
Aim of POP Visions: Influence and support the new revised curriculum, through intergrated and innovative methods of teaching.
Global Arts Society. Is a global umbrella organisation for creative arts based on a social economic empowerment framework for generating wealth, building peace and transformation.

is an Ethical cultural space for creative artists, an agency for artists run by artists. Its focus is on collaboration across the art forms and generating work, economic activity and research.
